Sean Patrick Gaitens II, age 24, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020.

Born in Salem, NJ on September 28, 1996, he was the son of Sean Patrick Gaitnes and Kristine Sherl (Cochran) Smalley. Sean attended Appoquinimink High School and made his living as a construction worker. He loved all of his siblings dearly, and was a people person. Sean was an all-around athlete and loved every sport. He will be remembered as a charming and genuine soul.

Sean was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Charlotte Crombie. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his step mother, Anna Gaitnes; paternal grandparents, Patrick and Yvonne Gaitens; sister, Alexis Gaitens; half-brother, Robbie Smalley; half-sister, Kaylee Smalley; step-sister, Brandi Combs; step-brother, Richard Combs; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sean’s memory to MOT Jean Birch Senior Center, 2nd Floor, 300 South Scott Street, Middletown, DE 19709.
