Selina Jean Maiorano

Selina Jean Maiorano, age 76, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Selina was born in 1944, and grew up in Florida with her parents, the late Roy and Selina Speary, and four brothers. She attended John Dickinson High School and worked at DuPont before marrying Joseph Maiorano and staying home with her children, Dianna and Brian. Selina was actively involved with the school district while her children were growing up. She loved traveling, especially to Key West. Selina loved to dance and would dance anywhere she was. She also enjoyed feeding and pampering her feral cats. In her spare time, Selina loved to visit the casinos as well as the beach. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice for all their support.

Selina is survived by her daughter, Dianna Garwood of Newark; son, Brian Maiorano (Paquita) of Zürich, Switzerland; grandchildren, Nicolas and Victoria, both of Zürich, Switzerland; and ex-husband, Joseph Maiorano of Newark.

All services will be held privately.
