Shannon H. Johnson, age 45, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on August 25, 1976, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Dorothy Mae (Owens) Johnson. Shannon worked in the health care field for many dedicated years as a CNA.
Shannon was charismatic and a fun-loving person. She loved to draw and enjoyed reading spiritual books. Shannon was known for her sense of humor and sweet, personalized hand written letters. In her leisure time she enjoyed going to the beach. Shannon’s children were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Shannon’s kind spirit, love of reading, and zest for life will live on through them.
In addition to her parents, Shannon was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her children, Angel Ortiz, Antonio Ortiz, A’lena Johnson, James Johnson, Christian Voshell Jr., Charles Voshell, Sr., and Caleigh Voshell; sister and brother, Sherry Johnson Voshell and Christian Voshell; grandchildren, Riy’Anna Johnson, Charles Voshell, Jr., and Stella Voshell; dear companion, Tom Beal; best friend, Rana Meadowcroft; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 5 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 5 pm. Interment will be held privately.
