Shelley Anne Goldsmith

There is a new angel in heaven. Shelley Anne Goldsmith, age 41, of Felton, DE, left this world on Saturday, June 5, 2021, with her parents by her side after a long illness.

Shelley loved listening to music, especially the Statler Brothers, doing jigsaw puzzles when she was younger, and swimming in the pool or at the beach. From an early age, she was a seasoned traveler, seeing the country from vehicles towing campers and for the last 17 years in a conversion van where she could sing along with the videos playing on TV. Shelley attended Meadowood School in Newark and graduated from Jackson County High School in Georgia. She and her brothers attended Berean Baptist Church in New Castle until 1992, when the family relocated to Georgia.

Shelley was predeceased by her grandparents, Mildred and Bob Goldsmith and Mary and Charles Miller. She is survived by her parents, Mary Ann and Russ Goldsmith; brothers, Russell Jr. (Sharon) and Thomas (Shannon); nephew, Collin; nieces, Brenda and Carly; aunts, Nancy Campana (Albert), Betty Martin (Don), and Jean Stevenson (Bob); uncle, Robert Miller (Angela); plus numerous cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the CDC and Governor of Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shelley’s memory to Berean Baptist Church, 1 Holcomb Lane, New Castle, DE 19720.
