Sophie Eliades

January 25, 1915 - August 7, 2019

Sophie Eliades, age 104, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, surrounded by her beloved children.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 25, 1915, she was the daughter of the late George and Chrisoula (Skordouli) Korologos.  For 30 years, Sophie worked for Wooleyhan Transport Company.

In 1935, she travelled to Greece, to marry her beloved husband, John.  In 1946, she, her husband and daughter returned to America.  Devoted to her faith, Sophie was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.  She will be remembered as a very supportive and loving wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, Sophie was preceded in death by her husband, John Eliades; sister, Mary Spinden; and brother, Harry Korolog.  She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Faller (James); and several nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately.          

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sophie’s memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N Broom St, Wilmington, DE 19806
