Stanley M. Haniebnik

Mr. Stanley M. Haniebnik, age 86, formerly of New Castle and Rehoboth, died on August 23, 2012.
Born in Polanka, Poland on August 1, 1926, Mr. Haniebnik moved to the United States and would go on to serve his country proudly in the US Army during World War II in Germany. He was admired as a very hard worker throughout his life, retiring as the meat manager for Thriftway in Kennett Square, PA. In his leisure hours, Mr. Haniebnik enjoyed trips to Delaware Park to watch horse racing and visit the casinos. He also liked watching movies.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth, and his second wife, Lillian. He is survived by his daughter, Carol E. Cortelessa of New Castle; sister, Irene Rogowski of Philadelphia, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at the West Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3003 Millcreek Road, Wilmington, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
