Temin A. “Timmie” Carroll

April 29, 1955 - July 10, 2019

Temin A. “Timmie” Carroll, age 64, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

Born in Wilmington, DE on April 29, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Geraldine Constance (Temin) and Alvin Ray Wilkerson, Jr. Timmie was the first graduating class at St. Mark’s High School. She continued her education at Del Tech and Wilmington University, where she graduated with her nursing degree.

Timmie was employed at Christiana Hospital as a unit clerk before moving to labor and delivery. She went on to work at Union Hospital and finally at East Side Charter School where she enjoyed being a school nurse. Timmie had a big heart and dedicated her life to helping others, both humans and animals. Throughout her life she had many pets and was known to care for strays.

Timmie was extremely creative and artistic. She enjoyed stenciling, interior decorating, drawing, and writing poetry. Timmie was also very fond of the beach and would go any chance she could get. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and sister and a dedicated nurse.

In addition to her parents, Timmie was preceded in death by her brother, Theodore Wilkerson. She is survived by her loving children, Stephen James and Megan Kathleen Carroll; brother, George H. Wilkerson (Jeane); sister, Ann Rinear Dougherty (Charles); cousin, John “Vic” Hawkins, Jr. (Sheila); and former husband, Stephen Kevin Carroll.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 Noon until 1 pm on Friday, July 19, 2019, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In memory of Timmie’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.

    Ashley and I were both saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. Our deepest condolences. 🙏

  • We met for the first time at St. Mark’s High School. Timmie was a student and I was the assistant Principal. Sweet “kid”, she’ll be missed.

  • I work with Timmie at CCHS, labor and delivery. She was great to work with.

  • Ann , I have searched for Timmi for years ! I used to be at your house all the time when Dad was principal & Mom was School Nurse . Timmi & I called Wams radio and drove them nuts . LOL
