Thelma Hull

Thelma Hull, age 95, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Anderson, SC on August 5, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Wylie and Mary Marie (Maulden) McDowell.  Thelma dedicated her career as a nursing assistant with Fair Acres Nursing Home in Media.

She loved her family and attending reunions.  Thelma’s hobbies included sewing, crocheting, cooking and reading.  She  especially enjoyed watching Perry Mason.  Above all, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathanial; son, Charles Hull; brother, Walter McDowell; and sister Mary Crumpler.  She is survived by her children, Zella Lewis, Doris Culbreath, Nathanial Hull, Jr., Marie Townes, Calvin Hull, Elaine McKelly, Allen Hull, Sr., Janice White, Minister Clyde Hull and Ralph Long; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on from 1 pm until 2 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm.  Interment will be held privately.
