Thelma Marie Cardenti, age 75, of New Castle, DE went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 28, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilmington, DE on January 6, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Thelma M. (Willey) Cardenti, Jr. Thelma worked as an assembler with Opportunity Center in Wilmington and retired after 47 dedicated years.

She attended the Mancus Foundation in Wilmington for the past 50 years and was a member of the Easter Seals Community Outreach Program. Thelma was a classic movie buff and an avid Elvis memorabilia collector. She was a member of Fairwinds Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Jean Cardenti, Joseph A. Cardenti III and Deborah Walls. She is survived by sister, Lois Blanchfield of Reno, NV; brother, Michael D. Cardenti (Lori) of Middletown; and nieces and nephews, Michelle Speechley, Melissa Lutes, Monica Weeks, Stephannie Cunningham, Joseph Cardenti IV, Betty Perez, Pamela Story, Michelle Blanchfield, Patricia Salvo and Chris Blanchfield.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Thelma’s niece, Maria Andrews and her husband Tyler for acting as caregivers for the past 4 ½ years.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thelma’s name to the Easter Seals, 61 Corporate Circle, New Castle, DE 19720.
