Theodore J. “Ted” Browan

Theodore J. “Ted” Browan, age 72, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE on February 3, 1952, he was the son of the late Theodore and Helen (Corradin) Browan. Ted was a graduate of William Penn High School in 1970.  He began working at American Mirrex and later went on to work in maintenance at Delaware Park Race Track and Casino until his retirement. Not satisfied with retirement life he took a job at Smyrna Community Hardware, gladly assisting customers with their project and hardware needs.

Ted enjoyed salt water fishing and golfing with his many friends. He could also be found riding his John Deere tractor, maintaining his meticulous lawn.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Helen Browan. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia A. (Spence) Browan; and daughters, Melissa J. Browan and Deanna L. Perno and son-in-law Francis Perno.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 7 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 7 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.
