Theresa I. Smith

Mrs. Theresa I. (Eisenhauer) Smith, age 78, of New Castle, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Hazleton, PA, on April 16, 1934, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Sterling Eisenhauer and Anne (Cheslock) Eisenhauer. She was a talented homemaker throughout her life and also worked as a professional baker for Superfresh until her retirement.
A devout Catholic, Mrs. Smith was a member of Holy Spirit parish. In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed traveling on cruises to many interesting destinations, bowling with friends, and trying her luck with the slot machines at Delaware Park.
Mrs. Smith will be long remembered as a gracious, kind, and compassionate person, loved and appreciated by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Her beloved husband, Ralph E. Smith, passed away in 1989. She is survived by her sons, Timothy R. Smith and wife Patricia of New Castle, Robert E. Smith and wife Anne of Elkton, MD, and Larry L. Smith and wife Sharon of New Castle; brother, Larry Eisenhauer and wife Ronnie of New Castle; sisters, Rose Callahan of New Castle, Eleanor Knorr and husband Bill of Odessa, Anna Brown of Newark, and Nancy Camponelli and husband Paul of Bear; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park, New Castle. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
