Theresa Rae Chester, age 58, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, August 31, 2018.

Born in Elkton, MD, on November 10, 1959, she was a daughter of Wanda L. (Crouse) Wilson and the late Julian Starrett. Theresa worked as the head dietician and cook for Little Sisters of the Poor for many dedicated years.

Devoted to her family, Theresa enjoyed watching her sons compete in motorsports, including demolition derby and tuff truck and spending time with her grandkids, especially her two youngest grandsons, Jared and Andrew. She also held a special place in her heart for family pets, Dixie and Molly. Theresa’s hobbies included crocheting, knitting and watching Nascar.

In addition to her father, Theresa was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Starrett and James Starrett and sister, Bonnie Starrett. She is survived by her mother, Wanda Wilson; children, Ronald R. Chester (Jennifer), Dwayne A. Chester (Paula), Bruce L. Chester (Angela) and Arthur Chester (Lindsey); brother, David Wilson (Cathy); nephew, Jimmy Farlow, who she loved as a son; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 6 pm on Monday, September 10, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 6 pm. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa’s memory to Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
