Mr. Thomas L. Malandruccolo, Sr., age 65, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Mr. Malandruccolo was born in Wilmington on March 7, 1948, son of the late John F. Malandruccolo and Mary E. Ludlam Malandruccolo. He made his career as a pipefitter with the DuPont Company, retiring from the Edgemoor site. Earlier he was employed in the construction industry and assisted in such important projects as the widening of the C & D Canal.
Mr. Malandruccolo was an avid and knowledgeable outdoorsman throughout his life; he enjoyed hunting and fishing (his greatest passions!) as well as bird watching. Well known by all for his genial, friendly, and cheerful manner, he truly loved life, good food, and good company. Most of all, he will be remembered as a devoted family man whose happiest times were spent in the company of his beloved children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, April S. Ward (Mitchell) of New Castle, Thomas L. Malandruccolo, Jr. (Stacie) of Bear, Michael J. Malandruccolo (Jillian) of Delaware City, and Charlene F. Malandruccolo (Shawn) of Bear; brother, John Malandruccolo (Monica) of Greenwood; sister, Evelyn Bolinski (Bruce) of Kirkwood; his precious grandchildren who were the apples of his eye, Alexis, Michael, Jennifer, Taylor, Julia, Sidney, and Isabella; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11:30 am on Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 209 Washington Street, Delaware City. Interment will follow in New St. Paul’s Cemetery.
