Valerie Johnson “Val” Landon

Valerie Johnson “Val” Landon, age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Born in Chicago, IL, she was a daughter of the late Earl M. and Dolores W. Johnson. Valerie was a top producing Delaware Realtor for more than 40 years. She was originally employed by Harris Hanby Realtors in the mid 1970’s until 1981, at which time she joined Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate where she worked as an agent for 33 years. Valerie received many performance awards during her career. She loved to travel and visited many places throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

In addition to her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce A. Johnson, and Frank J. Johnson. She is survived by her sons, John P. Landon and John’s partner Jennifer Boutin of Bear, and David M. Landon (Kirsten Hobson Landon) of Bear; siblings,  Dianne Fellinger (Larry) of Lingenhurst, IL, Dennis Johnson (Karen) of Phoenix, AZ, and Michelle Johnson of Anchorage, AK; cherished grandsons, Jake Landon, Sean Landon, Matthew Landon, and Kyle Landon; sisters-in-law, Roberta Taylor, Elaine Butts, and Mary Butts; brothers-in-law, Robert Butts, and Otto Taylor; and five wonderful nephews, one niece, and their families, Richard Johnson, Michael Johnson, Steven Johnson, Todd Johnson, Sonya Bilski, and Jason Taylor.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
