Vera Jean Aaron

Vera Jean Aaron, age 77, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in McComas, WV on May 13, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Bascom Steele and Effie (Taylor) Parag. Vera spent most of her life as a dedicated homemaker to her family.

Vera enjoyed her daily coffee while having a good cigarette. She delighted in eating anything strawberry, cheesecake, and fish filets from McDonalds. You would be sure to catch her watching her soap operas, old western movies and favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. Vera had a special love for dolphins and angels. In her leisure time she liked completing find a word and puzzle searches. She cherished the memories she made with her husband Homer, fishing and going to Delaware Park. She loved cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. Most of all Vera loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and family.

In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer Aaron; and brother, Sonny Steele. She is survived by her loving children, Sandy Gadzinski (Stan), Pam Rudinoff (Ryan), Jimmy Purdy, Jr., and Vicki-Lynn Bray; grandchildren, Matthew Gadzinski (Kristen), Nicholas Gadzinski (Michelle), Christine White (Damien), Kelley Gadzinski (Chris), Ashley Inverso (Bobby), Tommy Cassidy III (Alex), Ryan Cassidy, Michael Grisier, and Travis Grisier (Caitlyn); 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Debbie Morris, and Diane Fooks (Jack); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Townsend Church, 4519 Dupont Parkway, Townsend, DE, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
