Virginia M. “Ginny” Maucher

August 26, 1937 - January 1, 2020

Virginia M. “Ginny” Maucher, age 82, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

Born in Boothwyn, PA on August 26, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William and Elsie (Purcell) Conlow.  Ginny graduated from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA. She worked for duPont for several years and in the culinary department at Salesianum School.  Following the birth of her daughter, she dedicated her life as a stay at home mom and loved being a homemaker.

Devoted to her faith, Ginny was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s R.C. Church and enjoyed making crafts with the ladies at church.  She loved the outdoors and watching the wildlife, especially birds and deer.  Ginny had a fondness for all animals, in particular cats.  She was an avid sports fan, and loved cheering on her beloved Phillies and Eagles.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her siblings, William Conlow and Jane Morrison.  She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James W. Maucher, Jr.; children, Jane D’Angelo (Terry), James Maucher, III and Bridget Maucher; and 5 grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 209 Washington Street, Delaware City, DE 19706, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am.  Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
