  • Walter we will miss you coming into the Atterbury VFW and your snappy replies. Your knowledge on Pottsville PA and surrounding area. You were a kind and pleasant man. I will miss singing a line from a song I rembered from the 1960’s “Walter, Walter take me to the alter”

  • We will miss seeing and talk to Walter at Atterbury VFW. Mom and he had some nice conversations up there talking about their experiences in life over the years. He was a very nice person always a gentleman. I’m glad he is at peace. He has been through a lot. I will pray for him and your family. We are very sorry for your loss. Marie McGinn

  • I’ll always remember the trips when Uncle Wally and Aunt Marie came to the Outer Banks with us. One day, Wally didn’t wear any sunscreen and got sunburned. The next morning, he woke up and was a blistering beet red. He looked like he was hurting so I remember asking him how he was feeling and if he wanted any aloe, he just looked at me and said, “I did this to myself buddy-ro, and no, I don’t need any of that cream.” So although he suffered through it, I noticed he was extremely careful to stay in the shade the rest of the week. Ha! Tough, funny and charming…. that was Wally to a T!

I reflect on those good times with Wally and Marie, and it makes my heart smile to know he is up there keeping an eye on all of us. My deepest condolences to Donna, Michael and family. Sending you lots of love.

Love – Tom and Julie Colan
