Wanda F. Thomas

Wanda F. Thomas, age 81, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Born in Kingston, WV, on July 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Mellie (Sanders) Adkins. Wanda was a dedicated employee for 27 years at the University of Delaware where she worked in food service.
Wanda was raised in Pike County, KY. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar R. Thomas; daughter, Rita Ann Robinson; and brother, Elzie Adkins. She is survived by her son, William F. Gladsky; aunt, Fay Blackburn; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends in Pike County, KY.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 11:30 am on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wanda’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.

It’s with a sadden heart to hear that my Dear Friend put on her wings and took flight to a room reserved by God just for her. I will miss her smile, and I always referred to her, “AS MY GIRL FRIEND” when she came into the lobby on her scooter driving fast.
