Wendy S. DeKalb, age 59, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 3, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence J. DeKalb and Nadine (Patterson) DeKalb Davis. Wendy made her career as a deli clerk with ShopRite of Newark. She was an avid football fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Wendy was also a music lover and enjoyed attending concerts.

In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Gillespie. She is survived by her children, Lucas DeKalb (Tina) of Clayton and Ashley M. Smigelski of Newark; siblings, Linda Tharp of Middletown, Sherry Bartel of Elsmere, and Phillip Davis of Smyrna; and grandchildren, Tylor Slevin and Jasmine Slevin.

All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wendy’s memory to Community Vision Fellowship, 34 King Avenue, New Castle, DE 19720.
