William Blake Anderson
August 12, 1992 - April 11, 2021
William Blake Anderson, age 28, of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
Born in Springfield, IL, on August 12, 1992, he was the son of William Shane and Laurie Ann (Oldfield) Anderson (David Dively III). Blake attended Middletown High School, then pursued his computer science degree online with Strayer University. He was an extremely talented musical artist who played in a band, and wrote his own music. Music made Blake’s heart smile. He was a loving son, brother, husband, and father.
Blake died a hero and was able to save three lives. His liver and both kidneys were donated to those in need. As an organ donor, Blake’s memory will continue to live on through the individuals he saved; may his gift of giving change the lives of those families in a profound and positive way.
Blake was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roger Oldfield and paternal step-grandfather, Larry Wimmer. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 2 ½ years, Heather Anderson; precious baby boy, Cayden Anderson; sisters, Brianna Anderson and Brittany Anderson; maternal grandmother, Sharon Oldfield (Tom Steil); paternal grandmother, Nancy Wimmer; paternal grandfather, William Anderson (Jeanne); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Blake will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
May the lives that Blake touched produce and inspire a wave of kindness that the world so desperately needs.
A visitation will be held for family and friends from 10 am until 12 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, followed by a funeral service at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Old Drawyers Cemetery, 2839 Dupont Parkway, Middletown, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Blake’s memory to the Educational Fund of Cayden Anderson at any WSFS Bank.
