William “Patrick Ledwith IV

William “Patrick” Ledwith IV, age 30, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Born in Wilmington, DE on July 20, 1988, he was the son of Paula M. and William P.Ledwith III. Patrick graduated from Glasgow High School and continued his education with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Delaware Technical Institute in 2018. He worked for Shoprite from 2008 until 2016. Patrick was a proud member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

An avid Philadelphia fan, you could always find him cheering on his beloved Eagles. Patrick enjoyed reading, gaming and was a known trivia buff. Above all he will be remembered as a loving, son, grandson, nephew, cousin and dear friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Amalie A. (Butler) Ledwith and grandfather, William P. Ledwith, Jr. Patrick is survived by his parents, William and Paula; maternal grandmother, Dorothy H. Way; maternal grandfather, Bruce T. Cook (Beatrice); aunts, Melanie Cook, Amalie Rodek (Joseph) and Linda Allen (Michael); and cousins, Christopher Feathers (Rebecca), Jennifer Brown (Frank) and Jeffrey Allen.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 am until 1 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a Celebration of Life will begin at 1 pm. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Patrick’s memory to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
