Daniel David Nykaza, Sr.

Daniel David Nykaza Sr., age 78, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Geisinger Hospital in Scranton, PA.
Mr. Nykaza was born in Taylor, PA on February 19, 1936 and was a son of the late Jacob Nykaza and Genevieve Yahemiac Nykaza. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. An employee of the Chrysler Corporation, Mr. Nykaza worked as an inspector throughout his career and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
He was a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Church, where he served as an usher. Mr. Nykaza was active in his community and enjoyed volunteering, especially with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, where he and his wife spent many hours helping in any way possible. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Mr. Nykaza is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Pauline Ann Mihalisko Nykaza; children, Judy Dawson (Walter), Daniel Nykaza, Jr. and Michael Nykaza; brothers, Jacob and Walter Nykaza; sister, Sophie Ward; and grandson, Christopher Dawson.
Services will be private. Interment will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family R.C. Church Outreach Office, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE.
