Dolores E. McClain

Dolores E. McClain, 77, of New Castle, DE, went home to be with the Lord, December 28, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late William H. and Ruth Jarrell McClain.

Dolores was a 1954 graduate of William Penn High School and worked for Gracelawn Memorial Park for an astounding 48 years, retiring on her 65th birthday.

She was a devout and longstanding member of the First Baptist Church of New Castle.

Dolores was very active throughout her retired years as she enjoyed talking with friends, reading a good book, taking walks and spending time outside especially tending to her garden in the summer.

She was kind to everyone that she came in contact with, even if it was for a brief time. Dolores was very generous and loving to all that she knew; especially her animals. She lived her life to the fullest and embodied the phrase of, living life to the fullest.

Dolores will be dearly missed by all her friends and family including her Aunt Esther, John Jarrell (cousin), dear friend Gerry Brown, John Tillinghast, Jill Tillinghast , Melanie Killmer, and her neighbor and close friend, Lisa Smith and her family Chris, Amanda, and Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Lois and Barbara Ann and cousin, James Jarrell, along with dearest friends, Charles Dean, Robert and Joanne Tillinghast.

As per Dolores’ wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date.
