Donald L. “Buddy” Loveland
March 22, 1955 - December 31, 2018
Donald L. “Buddy” Loveland, age 63, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018.
Born in Chester, PA, on March 22, 1955, he was the son of the late Frank and Donna (Rhoades) Cooper. Buddy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his term, he worked as a chemical operator for Formosa Plastics in Delaware City, DE.
A talent for music, Buddy loved playing guitar and singing in his band “The Homestead Band.” He enjoyed writing poems and songs. Buddy enjoyed time spent in his camper at the beach with his wife and family. His fondest memories were playing with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Poppy.”
“He flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels. By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees. And he walks with Jesus and his loved ones waiting. And I know he’s smiling saying. Don’t worry ’bout me.”
Buddy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Eleanor “Ellie” (Garvine) Loveland; children, John Javorsky, William Javorsky, Duane Loveland (Lisa), Keith Loveland and Britney Loveland; sisters, Donna Yuscavage (John), Patti LaRue (Marty), Karen Phillips (Michael); sister-in-laws, Doris Donahue (Richard), Marion Krone and Donna Miller; grandchildren, Kayla, Kacey, Jake, Bret, Emily and Brody; great grandson, J.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE
