Golda J. Dills

Golda J. Dills, age 86, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 with her family by her side.

Born in Maybeury, WV on May 8, 1930, Golda was the daughter of the late Noah S. and Nettie V. (Hendrick) Perdue. In addition to raising her family, she worked for Avon until her retirement in 1992.

Golda adored hosting family gatherings, especially barbecues and holiday dinners. A warm and gracious hostess, she was an exceptional cook and loved nothing more than preparing delicious home-cooked meals to share. Golda was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who dearly loved her family and will be lovingly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey J. Dills; son, Wayne K. Dills; brothers, Maurice and Francis; and sisters, Ethel and Vangie. Golda is survived by her children, Ronald J. Dills (Margaret) of New Castle, Brenda K. Keeler of Clayton, Deborah L. Dills of Newark, Michael E. Dills of New Castle, Darryl L. Dills (Brigette) of Bear; and brother, Ormond Perdue of Maybeury, WV; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Rebecca, Ashley, and the staff of Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation for the excellent and professional care given to our mother.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720.
