Hilda Martinez

Hilda (Atiles) Martinez, age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017.
Born in Hatillo, PR on June 23, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Atiles and Maria Valentin. Hilda lived in Puerto Rico for 20 years before moving to Brooklyn, NY in 1950. She and her husband, Alfredo, moved back to Puerto Rico after his retirement in 1988.
Hilda enjoyed listening to guitar music, sewing, and crocheting. Most of all, she loved family gatherings.
In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfredo Martinez. She is survived by her son, Luis Martinez (Diane); daughter, Gloria Martinez; sister, Chate; brothers, Juan and Miguel; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening, November 21, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Burial will be in Hatillo, Puerto Rico.
