Leland A. DuBois, Jr.

Leland A. DuBois, Jr., age 97, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Detroit, MI, on November 11, 1921, he was the son of the late Leland A. and Emily (Butts) DuBois, Sr. Leland proudly served as a medic in the U.S. Army during WWII, seeing action at the Battle of the Bulge. He then worked for Delmarva Power & Light as a control room technician, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Leland was an honored life member of both the J.F. Speer VFW Post #615 and Military Order of the Cootie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Edith A. (Godwin) DuBois; sister, Delphine Morell; granddaughter, Patricia Kee; and a nephew. Leland is survived by his children, Sandra D. Caporelli (Nicholas), Leland A. DuBois III (Linda) and Kathleen P. White (John, Jr.); grandchildren, William Caporelli, Anne Potter, John White III, Stephen White and Jennifer White; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and 2 nieces.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 8:30 am until 9:30 am on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
