Walter L. Stoner, Jr.

February 23, 1924 –¬†October 13, 2013

Walter L. Stoner Jr., age 89, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 13, 2013.

Mr. Stoner was born in Coatesville, PA on February 23, 1924. He honorably served as a combat medic in the US Army during WWII and was a Bronze Star recipient. Mr. Stoner was employed with the US Postal Service, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 64 years, Elva Mae Parker Stoner; daughters, Nancy Racz (Frank), Denise Waters (Robert), and Elaine Spiezio (Anthony); son, Ronald Stoner (Danielle); 12 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Services and burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 308, Wilmington, DE 19899.

    So sorry to hear about Mr. Stoner. So many fond memories of my time spent at your parent’s house, Elaine, especially coming in late and climbing over the gate in the kitchen and hurrying past the dogs! My sympathy to the entire Stoner family.
