Gloria “Gail” Johnstone,  passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the age of 72.

Born in Uniontown, PA, on November 4, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gloria (DiVizia) Barrett. After graduating from Mt Pleasant High School, she put herself through beauty school and for many years worked as a beautician, owning her own salon in the North Wilmington area. She devoted her life to her family and friends after retiring over 20 years ago.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David R. Johnstone and their little dog, Cleo. She is survived by her loving daughters, Kimberly R. Johnstone, and Kelly L. Spence (Robert, Sr.); brother, Michael Barrett (Marianne); grandchildren, Robert Spence, Jr. (Kellie), Mallory Stevens (Garry), David Spence II (Heidi), and Kelsie Spence; and great-grandchildren, Scarlett Stevens, Brycen Spence, Gentry Spence, Jack Stevens, and Gannon Spence.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
