Geraldine C. “Geri” Pautler

April 30, 1927 - September 18, 2021

Geraldine C. “Geri” Pautler, age 94, of Lincoln University, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Born in Elma, NY, on April 30, 1927, Geri was the oldest of eight children born to late Charles and Julia Pfender. She was educated only to the eighth grade, but she was a quick study in all that she attempted, including gourmet cooking, needlework, flower gardening, and decorating. Geri had impeccable taste and always knew how to spot a bargain. She worked as an accountant for the Medical Society of New Jersey for many years, and then enjoyed retirement (with much traveling and board game playing) with Alfred, her husband of 69 years, who passed away on August 10, 2021.

Geri was active in the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Trenton, NJ Elks #105 and the Republican Club in the Yardley, PA, area. She was a RCIA sponsor while a member of St. Francis by the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Hilton Head, SC, where she also volunteered in the thrift shop. Geri was a current member of St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church in Newark, DE.

In addition to her husband, Geri was preceded in death by her son, Craig Pautler. She is survived by her son, Philip Pautler (Maria) of Newark; daughter, Kristel (nee Pautler) Weldon (John) of Apex, NC; grandchildren, Nicholas Pautler, Carleigh Weldon, and Aidan Weldon; and her remaining sibling, Karen (Pfender) Wilkenson of Elma, NY.

The family would like to thank caregiver, Helen, for her compassionate care of Geri, and all of the friends, neighbors, home helpers, and medical personnel who checked in on her and Alfred during these last few years.

A Funeral Mass will be held for both Geraldine and Alfred at 11 am on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at St. Margaret of Scotland R.C. Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE 19702. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geri’s memory to St. Margaret of Scotland R.C. Church, at the address above, St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlain, SD 57325, online by clicking here, or to a children’s charity of your choice.

  • The love between Geri and Al was the key note to all who knew them. I was blessed to share their friendship. This time I shed tears for the departure of my dear friend, Geri, someone that always gave me good advice, and a loving cheer.
