William Joseph “Bill” Poulson

William Joseph “Bill” Poulson, age 70, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 21, 1954, he was a son of the late Robert James and Laura Theresa (Kilijanski) Poulson. Bill was born and raised in Philly.  He worked as a graphic solutions consultant manager for Harper Corporation of America.  Active in his community, he was a member of Love of Christ Church in Bear, the Blue Rock Alumni, and Harper Scientific Graphics.  Bill loved watching baseball and football, he especially was a huge Eagles fan; and in his younger years, he played baseball and softball.  He also was in Drum Corps, he loved drumming and could always find some sort of surface to drum a beat on.  Bill especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Poulson; and brothers-in-law, Donald Fleming and Rich Stukey.  He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy (Stukey) Poulson; son, Shawn Poulson (Rachel); grandsons, Ethan and Mason Poulson; sister, Laura Fleming; sister-in-law, Linda Stukey; and nieces and nephews, Christine Hirshka, Donna Wolfington, Chris Poulson (Jill), Trisha Mangano (Joe), Bobby Poulson, and Chris Swain (Fred)

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Road, Bear, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.

  • Along with many other friends from the Philadelphia area, Bill and I were stalwart members of the Blue Rock Drum & Bugle Corps. Based in Wilmington, DE, Blue Rock was many time State and National Champions in the late 1960s and early ’70s.
    As close friends in Drum Corps, we shared many good times and proud moments together. Friendships like this are hard to come by — and truly last a life-time. We’ll miss you, Bill.
