Margaret F. (Meg) Arthur
October 28, 1965 - October 13, 2024
Margaret F. (Meg) Arthur, age 58, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Newark, DE, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Dover, DE, she was the youngest of six children to the late Mary and James Arthur.
After graduating from Caesar Rodney High School, Meg began a 35-year career at MBNA, which now is Bank of America. She was a valued employee whose dependability and loyalty were at the core of how she lived her personal life.
When Meg was your friend, you had a friend for life. She was generous to so many people in so many ways, but one of the most cherished gifts Meg shared was her infectious sense of humor. Meg could make us laugh until we cried, and she had an innate ability to know when that laughter was needed most. Her sense of timing also shone through when someone Meg loved needed a compliment, encouragement or advice.
Meg loved music and had a beautiful voice, which she also used gently and happily as a companion with the several dogs she rescued and pampered. She loved to travel and went on many adventures with her friends and family. Meg’s favorite vacation destination was Cape Cod in the fall, and in recent years she wintered in Florida.
She will be missed, but memories of her spirit will be cherished always by those who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Meg was preceded in death by her brother, James (Jim), and sisters, Marianne (Mimi) and Elizabeth (Betsy). She is survived by her sisters, Janet Hope and Nancy Webb (Jeff); brother-in-law, Bruce Kiesel (Marie); nieces and nephews, Alyson Kiesel (Ron), Daniel Kiesel (Heather), and Amy Layton (Tim); and great nieces and nephews, Amelia, Ava, Nolan, Addison, Lincoln and Delilah.
A celebration of life will be held from 4 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Hilton Wilmington/Christiana, 100 Continental Drive, Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Delaware, 222 Lake Drive, Newark, DE 19702 or by clicking here.

Sincere condolences to the Arthur Family. I met Meg in High School as she was a close friend of my sisters, Maureen. She quickly became my friend and through the years a friend of our Family’s including our Mom, Charlotte who she lovingly called ‘Char Char’.
Meg was so fun to be around and could retell our ‘old stories’ like no other. I will hold onto all of my memories of her and the great times we had. She had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and I will miss her dearly!

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Meg’s family & friends.
The mold was broken when Meg was born, she was one of a kind.
I worked with Meg for approximately 30 years at MBNA & BOA. These were some of the best years of my life, having Meg in my life. She was one of the kindest people I knew. She truly had a heart of gold and will be missed terribly but never forgotten. I will forever cherish the many fun memories we had together, the three musketeers and aka the golden girls.
Until we meet again, my dearest friend, I miss you!
Love you!
