January 10, 1929 - January 21, 2017

Adele Colicchio, nee Canzanese, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her loving family.  Adele was born on January 10, 1929, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to the late Nicola and Filomena Canzanese.

Adele was a loving, caring, and feisty woman who loved her family more than life.  She was the center of family gatherings with her immediate and extended relatives.  Her funny and unabashedly honest personality engendered love and admiration from all those around her.  She enjoyed shopping, card playing, and spending time at the beach with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm at the St. Thomas More Oratory, 45 Lovett Avenue, Newark, DE 19711.  Interment will be private.

  • Mary Ann, Joanne, Diane, and Franny, your mother was a wonderful woman to know when growing up. I cherish the memories of the pinochle games we played together. And I still chuckle recalling her telling Joanne and me about the Tom Jones concert she went to with Mary Ann. I am sure she will be sadly missed.

  • Diane and Mary Ann so sorry for your loss. You and your family on in my prayers.
