Ms. Adrienne Cosette Jolley, known fondly as “Angel,” age 42, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Christiana Hospital.
Born in Cambridge, MD, on September 11, 1970, Angel was the daughter of Marion R. Jolley and Verna D. Woolford Jolley. She attended elementary school in Maryland and both middle and high school in Delaware, where she graduated from William Penn High School in 1988. She would go on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Goldey-Beacom College in 1993. She made her career in the financial industry, most recently working as a credit analyst with Flagship Credit Acceptance.
Angel was a loving and giving person who delighted in bringing joy to others. Although she had no children of her own, she greatly enjoyed spending time with her nieces and caring for friends’ children as well. In the workplace, she would champion social events with food and entertainment for co-workers for the purpose of boosting morale. Family and friends appreciated her tenacious spirit and willingness to help others.
Angel is survived by her mother, Verna Jolley of Delaware; adoptive father, Marion Jolley of Connecticut; biological father, William Roberts of Maryland; brother, Delray Jolley, his wife, Yvonne, and their daughters, Delaina, Kaiyla, and Nayah Jolley, all of Delaware; sisters, Kia Roberts of Maryland, Yvonne Jolley, Kaitlyn Jolley, and Keyonna Cromwell, all of Connecticut; brothers, Jessie Rembert and his wife, Joy, and Armond Jolley, all of Connecticut; seven additional nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
