Alana Kaper Bower - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Alana Kaper Bower

August 21, 1978 - July 5, 2021

Alana Kaper Bower, age 42, went to be with God on Monday, July 5th, 2021 due to complications from surgery.

Born in Wilmington, DE, Alana was adopted by the most loving parents she could ever ask for. Alana was a 1996 graduate of St. Elizabeth H.S. She received her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Delaware.

Alana always had a love for art and loved painting. She loved to dance and would dance any chance she got. Alana married her husband Norman and had two children Liam and Genevieve. As a family they went on many road trips and had great times together. Alana was a Girl Scout leader of Troop 480 and avid Girl Scout supporter. She was the greatest mother to her kids, always patient, loving, trusting and supportive. Alana had a love for teaching and was a Para Professional for Red Clay Schools. She was always ready for a challenge and would give it her all. She was a devout Catholic and had a beautiful soul and a smile to match. God blessed you Alana and now you are with him.

She leaves behind her husband Norman; son, Liam; daughter, Genevieve; father and mother Deacon Bill and Nancy Kaper; brother, Steve Kaper (Jenni); parents-in-law, Norman Sr. and Patty Bower; sister-in-law, Shirley Ryan (Pat); brother in-law, Jamie Bower (Lacey); and so many loved aunts, uncles, cousin, and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 11 am on Monday, July 12, 2021, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, her family would like to continue following in Alana’s footsteps by collecting funds for Liam and Genevieve’s educational future through their Go Fund Me account by clicking here.
