Prior to his passing, he was a member of the Delaware Legends, playing and coaching for the over 60 league.

Full of life, and loved by all he knew, Smokey had a contagious smile that instantly put everyone at ease. He was a longtime member of Stahl Post #30 and the St. Anthonys Club of New Castle, DE. Smokey greatly enjoyed relaxing at his beach house in Bethany Beach, DE. More than anything else, Smokeys greatest joy was being a grandfather. His grandson, Noah, was the absolute center of his world and both looked forward to the special time everyday when Noah was picked up from daycare by his adoring Pop Pop.
