Alice B. Pott

Mrs. Alice B. Pott, age 88, of Santa Fe, NM, and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully in Loveland, CO, on Thursday, October 13, 2011.
Born on June 7, 1923, in Unionville, Centre County, PA, Mrs. Pott was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Cornelius Brugger. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Metropolitan Hospital School of Nursing in New York City in 1946. She worked as an industrial nurse for the DuPont Company. Later in her career she worked at Elkton Hospital and also did private duty nursing.
Mrs. Pott was a volunteer for St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay, Blood Bank of Delaware, and the Newark Senior Center. She also participated in the Home Demonstration Group in Newark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers, and by her husband, Richard. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca P. Fitton and Sandra L. Pott; her son, Richard M. Pott, III, his wife, Calla, and their children Alec, Jarratt, and Rachel.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
