Alice L. Taylor

Mrs. Alice L. Taylor, age 83, of Kennett Square, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013.
Born in Salt Lake City, UT on March 30, 1929, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Asa L. LeGro and Romaine Nicholl LeGro. She was a gifted educator and made her career as a special education aide with the Brandywine School District, where she retired after 21 years of service. A devout Christian, she was a life member of Emmanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
She was an avid traveler throughout her life and especially enjoyed visiting her many relatives. In earlier years, she also looked forward to her family’s annual vacation in Ocean City, NJ, where they spent nineteen wonderful summers together!
Mrs. Taylor was always at her happiest when in the company of her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be sadly missed by the many people who loved her. Her husband, Paul L. Taylor, Jr., passed away in 1990. She is survived by her children, Martha T. Patterson (Charles) of Chestertown, MD, James B. Taylor of Centreville, MD, Jeffrey Taylor (Debbie) of Woodstown, NJ, and Keith L. Taylor (Sage) of Landenberg, PA; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Taylor may be made to Emmanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 1006 Wilson Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
