Alice M. Immediato

Alice M.Immediato, age 92, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on August 25, 2018, after a long illness.

Mrs. Immediato was born in Camden Wyoming, DE and moved to Wilmington when she was sixteen. She was a homemaker and enjoyed preparing meals on holidays for her family. She was a den mother for her son’s Cub Scout pack and enjoyed working with the scouts. When a neighbor passed away, she and a fellow neighbor took it upon themselves to take up a collection for flowers. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church. In her later years, she resided with her daughter, Sheila and son-in-law, Michael, who took wonderful care of her.

She is survived by a son, John Immediato (MaryEileen) of Wilmington; two daughters, Paula L. Soltow of New Castle and Sheila M. Finochi of Newark; four grandchildren, Michael, Tina, Zachary and John; great granddaughter, Arianna; sister, Dorothy Grier of Woodside; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Anthony J. Immediato; her parents, Luther and Sallie Marker; 3 brothers, Alexis, Jackson and Watson; 3 sisters, Pearl Hutchins, Beulah Esham and Ida Mae Marker; and sons-in-law, Roy Soltow and Michael Finochi.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Cathy Engberg, Sue Koch, Helen Robinson and the workers at New Century Hospice for their assistance in helping with the care of their mother.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alice’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market St, #102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
