Alida Ida Krasts

Alida Ida Krasts, age 96, of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2014.

Born in Latvia on February 26, 1918, Mrs. Krasts was a daughter of the late Robert Liepins and Emma Erdmanis Liepins. She immigrated to the United States in 1950. She made her career as an accountant, working as a civilian at the Dover Air Force Base, and retired after 25 years of dedicated service.

Mrs. Krasts was a longtime member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John. She adored her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Karlis Krasts. She is survived by her sons, Aivars Krasts of Bear and Janis Krasts of Dover; brother, Gotfrids Liepins of Long Island, NY; 4 grandsons; and 2 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday morning, July 17, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Memorial Park, Lancaster Ave. and DuPont Rd., Wilmington, DE.
