Allen S. McBride

Allen S. McBride, age 77, of Townsend, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025, after a long illness.

Born in Norfolk, VA on May 7, 1948, he was a son of the late William Russell and Ida (Overman) McBride. Allen retired after an over 30-year career with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, primarily working in Shop 56.

Allen spent his retirement living with Angela, Brian and his grandchildren, and providing a tremendous amount of love and support to his family. He took great pleasure in watching his grandchildren succeed in school and sports. Allen enjoyed cheering on his beloved Baltimore Orioles and Washington Commanders. In his younger years, he was quite an accomplished amateur golfer. Allen will be undoubtedly missed and we rejoice that he is no longer in pain and is now with the Lord.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell and Steve. He is survived by his daughter, Angela (McBride) Housler (Brian); grandchildren, Joshua, Grace, Jonah and Faith; sister, Della Myers (Floyd); sister-in-law, Brenda McBride; and a host of nieces and nephews.
