  • I met Mr. Marando in his doctor’s office. He saw my graduation plaque from UD. My maiden name was Finch. He told me he lived on Scott Street and my grandparents lived on Lincoln and Conrad. He told me that he was hired to take care of my Dad’s German Shepard while he was in the Army. He was such a sweet man. The Schiavoni’s who were my dad’s next door neighbors treated me like their own grandchildren. Although my dad lived in an Italian neighborhood, he new how to speak Italian like his neighbors. It was such a good place to grow up for him. Thank you, Mr. Marando for sharing your memory. I wish I could have told my dad, John Finch.

  • Paula, Mike, and Family,
Our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy on the passing of your father. Although we didn’t know him, we’re certain he must’ve been a wonderful man by the beautiful and loving family he left behind. “Grief never ends…but it changes. It’s a passage…not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith. It is the price of love.” May you feel peace and your hearts be lifted by the many fond memories and love you shared.
