Anna “Nancy” Meyer

Mrs. Anna Nancy Meyer, age 73, of Newark, DE and formerly of Flushing, NY, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Christiana Hospital.

Born on August 23, 1937 in New York, NY, Mrs. Meyer was the daughter of the late Dominick Craddock and Mary Quigley Craddock. After many years of dedicated service, Mrs. Meyer retired from Flushing Hospital, where she had been employed as a medical coder. She and her husband relocated to Delaware 12 years ago and Mrs. Meyer enjoyed an active and fulfilling social life. She loved cooking, reading, and dining out with her husband. Mrs. Meyer was a theater enthusiast, and took pleasure in attending plays when she lived in New York. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Newark. Above all else, Mrs. Meyer was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who delighted in spending time with her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Walter Wally Meyer; her children, Walter F. Meyer and wife, Christine of Farmingville, NY and Colleen M. Kearns and husband, Michael of Newark, DE; brother, James Craddock and wife, Arlene of Lake Grove, NY; sister, Nora Gorman, and husband, Patrick of Lake Grove, NY; 5 grandchildren, Donna, Kaitlin Kristen, Tricia, and Kenny; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9:45 to 11:45 am on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 pm on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Holy Family R.C. Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
