Mr. Anthony R. Storniolo, Sr., age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on October 2, 1938, Mr. Storniolo was the son of the late Salvatore Storniolo and Mary Salvo Storniolo. He was employed in delivery with the former Drake’s Cakes for 21 years and would go on to accept a position as a toll collector with the Delaware River and Bay Authority, where he worked for 18 years until his retirement. He was also proud to serve his country in the US Coast Guard Reserve for eight years.
A devoted family man throughout his life, Mr. Storniolo delighted in spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed helping around the house and was pleased to do all the grocery shopping for many years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Vincetta Fani Storniolo, and daughter, Theresa Miller. He is survived by his son, Anthony R. Storniolo, Jr. and wife Tricia of Middletown; son-in-law, Timothy Miller; brother, Lawrence Storniolo of Newfield, NJ; grandchildren, Louis Michael Dyer, Gabrielle Storniolo, Anthony J. Storniolo, Jordan Taylor, Hailey Taylor, and Sophia Taylor.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, May 23rd, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Friday, May 24th, at the church. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
