Barbara P. Farra Henry, age 53, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012.
Barbara was born in Chester, PA, on August 11, 1958, daughter of the late John Farra and Lillian Whiteside. She was a 1977 graduate of Delcastle High School. A loving and compassionate mother and grandmother, she dedicated her life to caring for her beloved family. She was always at her happiest when spending time with her grandchildren and often sang to them with her lovely soprano voice.
Barbara was also a gracious and thoughtful hostess and delighted in entertaining family and friends at her home. She was especially well known for organizing fun “Family Night” games.
She is survived by her sons, Justin R. Henry (Nicole Martin) of Wilmington, Joseph Henry (Jo Jo) of New Castle, and David R. Henry (Sanette Selby) of New Castle; grandchildren, Juscir S. Henry, Saniyah M. Henry, and Bradford W. Martin; two brothers; five sisters; many nieces and nephews; and godchild, Thomas B. Farra. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin R. Henry, Jr., and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 1 pm.
