Benjamin Ames Carmine, age 76, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Born in Millsboro, DE, on August 19, 1946, he was a son of the late Elias George and Amelia (Penuel) Carmine. Benjamin proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and made his career as a superintendent in the construction industry until retirement.

Benjamin enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Owen.

In addition to his parents, Benjamin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan (Hathaway) Carmine. He is survived by his children, Shawn Carmine (Ashley Barber), Marc Carmine, Tammy Emigh (Rick), and Linda Hill (Willie); grandsons, Owen Carmine, and Collin Helm; siblings, Becky McCarty, Joan Carmine, Elias “Hambone” Carmine (Patty), and Don Carmine (Natosha); 6 additional grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 10 am on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
