Bernice M. “Bernie” Joseph

Bernice M. “Bernie” Joseph, age 73, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
Born in Wilmington, DE on September 25, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Marie (Sliwinski) Osowski. Bernie was a graduate of Conrad High School. She worked for several businesses over the years including, the Stone Balloon, Phoenix Steel, Discover Card, and JCPenney.
Bernie deeply loved animals, especially horses and buffalos. Throughout her life she doted on her many dogs, cats, and birds. Bernie was also a dedicated volunteer with the House Rabbit Society. In her spare time, she loved going to the beach, listening to music or dancing.
Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Osowski. She is survived by her daughter, Bernie Collins (Sam); and brother, Joe Osowski.
The family of Bernie would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Somerford Place and VITAS Hospice for their compassion and care.
All services will be held privately.

I am so very sorry to hear about Bernice. We graduated together and had lots of fun cutting classes and riding around in her VW bug. Those were great memories. May she rest in peace.
