Bessie May Ross

Mrs. Bessie May Ross, age 79, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Ross was born in Wilmington on April 27, 1933, daughter of the late Ellen and David Smith. She was employed as a professional waitress and retired from the former Woolworth’s at Prices Corner after a long and rewarding career.
In her leisure hours, Mrs. Ross greatly enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, which she playfully called her “second home.”
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, James S. Ross; her children, Gayle Donaldson and husband Tom, James Ross, David Ross, and Troy Ross and wife Debbie; her sister, Lorraine Siltzer; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 1 pm.
