Betty J. Lindsay

Betty J. Lindsay, age 89, of Newark, DE, formerly of Breesport, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2018.
Born in Elmira, NY on November 15, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Cameron and Emma Mae (Hubbard) Blauvelt. Betty dedicated her career in food service at public schools in Horseheads, NY. She was a lifetime member of the Breesport United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lindsay, Jr.; sisters, Velma Lindsay (William), Dorothy Lepley (Ted), Marilyn Libertore (Phillip); and brother, Kenneth Blauvelt (Marian). She is survived by her sister, Doris Kline (Charles); children, Paul Lindsay (Pam) and Daniel Lindsay; grandchildren, Kristen Davis, Marc Lindsay, Stephen Lindsay and Thomas Lindsay; daughter-in-law, Kathy Lindsay; and great grandchildren, Kaleigh Davis, Zachery Davis, Cecilia Lindsay, Finnegan Lindsay, Jimmy Lindsay, Madison Lindsay and Brandon Lindsay. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on November 9, 2018, at Breesport United Methodist Church, 110 Church Street, Breesport, NY. Interment will precede memorial service in Maple Grove Cemetery, 715 Broad Street, Horseheads, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s name to the Breesport United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 316, Breesport, NY 14645.
