Mrs. Beverly M. Black, age 64, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Born in Wilmington, DE on January 19, 1949, Beverly was the daughter of the late Edward T. Finney and Eleanor Hartenstine Finney. She later married James M. Black and together, they recently celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary. Beverly was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Beverly is survived by her daughter, Dawn Hutchison of Smyrna; brother, Gary Finney and wife Debbie of New Castle; brothers-in-law, Gary and Daniel Black, both of New Castle; sister, Marlene Asbury and husband Bill of Newark; sisters-in-law, Sue Bowers and husband Jamie of Middletown and Dawn Webber and husband Glen of Middletown; mother-in-law, Joan Rutledge of New Castle; grandson, Christopher Bell of Smyrna; and her faithful canine companions, Gizmo and Precious.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway New Castle, where family and friends may call from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Beverly’s name be sent to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
